Electrical design engineer - Transformer service

**Role Overview:** As a Product Design Engineer at Hitachi Energy, you will focus on designing and developing new or existing products, components, or assemblies. Your role will involve applying engineering principles to develop mechanical, electronic, or chemical products that meet customer technical/functional specifications as well as manufacturing cost/efficiency requirements. You will conduct mathematical modeling to determine the technical feasibility of proposed designs and support the design, test, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototypes. Additionally, you may be involved in designing product-specific manufacturing production processes and equipment. **Key Responsibilities:** - Be a part of the Transformer Service team specializing in Power Transformers design to support the portfolio including transformer repair, overhauling, capacity enhancement, and other service product lines. - Responsible for engineering based on tender specifications for pre and post order execution. - Assist with technical aspects of design and development of complex engineering projects, translating customer requirements into innovative solutions and specifications, and ensuring design validation compliance with safety and industry standards. - Provide technical support and solutions based on customer and project requirements, including technical inputs and reverse engineering for successful repair of transformers. - Support retrofit, upgradation, and refurbishment of Transformers by providing technical support such as inputs, drawings, specs, etc. - Design and implement upgrades and retrofits to improve transformer performance and efficiency. - Prepare Data sheets and Cost sheets as per customer specification. - Influence specifications at the tender and pre-tender stage through conceptual discussions. - Implement digital solutions to enhance the monitoring and management of transformer operations. - Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines. **Qualifications Required:** - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. - 5-7 years of experience working in Electrical design for Power Transformers (66kV & above). - Further experience in products such as Reactors, Special transformers, Dry & Traction transformers would be advantageous. - Experience in Simulation or software development is advantageous. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office and tools. - Demonstrated team building and networking skills. - Good verbal and written English skills are a must. - Ability to work as a team player, contribute to discussions, and work without supervision when required. - Quick learner with the ability to master new areas. **Note:** Hitachi Energy values safety and integrity, requiring you to take responsibility for your actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.
