Electrical Design Engineer

Electrical design engineer's roles include designing electrical systems, creating schematics and selecting components. They are responsible for ensuring designs meet safety and industry standards, developing prototypes, testing and troubleshooting designs, and preparing technical documentation. They also collaborate with other engineers, manage project timelines, and provide technical support throughout the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

1. Design and Development:

• Design and develop electrical systems and circuits.
• Create detailed electrical schematics and layouts using CAD software
• Select appropriate electrical components and materials for projects.
• Conduct simulations and detailed calculations to analyze and verify the designs appropriate electrical components and materials for projects.
• Knowledge of electrical component selection

2. Testing and Troubleshooting:

• Build and test prototypes to validate design concepts and performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve design issues.
• Perform failure analysis and manage testing procedures.

Compliance and Documentation:

• Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and electrical codes.
• Prepare technical documentation, including specifications, bills of materials and reports.
• Maintain and update design records.

4. Site Execution and Project Management:

• Supervise and manage the installation, testing, and commissioning activities of electrical systems at project sites.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, internal departments, and consultants to ensure smooth workflow and timely project completion.
• Monitor project progress, maintain detailed site reports, progress reports (MIS), and ensure project documentation is accurate and updated.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelors degree in a electrical engineering relevant field.

• Experience in electrical design engineering

• Strong knowledge on electrical design, principles, codes and standards. (NEC, IEC)

• Proficiency in CAD software(AutoCAD/EPLAN) and electrical design tools

• Good communication, problem solving and analytical skills.

• Ability to work in a team and coordinate with various stakeholders
