Electrical BIM Technician

Position: Electrical BIM Technician
Location: Kochi, India
Department: Engineering – MEP Services
Experience: Minimum 6 years in Electrical BIM Modelling (Consultancy Environment)

Key ResponsibilitiesBIM Modelling & Drafting

• Develop detailed 3D models of electrical systems using Revit, including power, lighting, earthing, ELV, and fire alarm systems.
• Create parametric Revit families for electrical components (e.g., lighting, equipment, cable trays).
• Prepare CAD/Revit drawings and BIM content to project-specific requirements.

Design Coordination

• Collaborate daily with architecture, structure, mechanical, and other engineering teams to ensure coordinated and integrated electrical design.
• Participate in coordination meetings to resolve design conflicts and clashes.

Documentation & Quality Control

• Produce and manage concept, schematic, detailed design, tender, and construction documentation.
• Conduct regular quality checks of BIM models to ensure compliance with design standards and regulations.
• Maintain accuracy and completeness of BIM outputs as per Middle East standards.

Model & Data Management

• Maintain proper model structure, naming conventions, and documentation standards.
• Manage linked models and references for multi-disciplinary coordination.

Automation & Innovation

• Support the development of digital automation tools and workflows to improve project delivery.
• Stay updated with the latest BIM tools and industry trends in electrical design.

Training & Support

• Train and support team members in using BIM tools and adhering to workflows.
• Troubleshoot technical issues related to electrical BIM modelling.

External Coordination

• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and vendors for BIM deliverables and data exchange.
• Integrate design updates and revisions from external partners into project models.

Core Competencies

• Expert knowledge in electrical services BIM modelling.
• Strong coordination and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to produce clash-managed BIM models to LOD 100, 200, and 300.
• Familiarity with Middle East codes and standards is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in electrical BIM modelling within a consultancy setup.
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and related MEP tools and software.
