Job Title: EHS Manager (Environment, Health & Safety Manager)

Job Summary

The EHS Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations. The role focuses on promoting a safe workplace, minimizing environmental impact, and fostering a strong safety culture across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Overall responsibility for EHS compliance in API Manufacturing

Environmental Management

  • Develop and implement environmental policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations
  • Monitor waste management, emissions, and resource usage
  • Lead environmental audits and sustainability initiatives
  • Maintain ETP, STP, MEE, ATFD as per regulatory and GMP norms

Health & Safety Management

  • Establish and enforce workplace health and safety programs
  • Conduct risk assessments, hazard identification, and job safety analyses
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses; implement corrective actions
  • Ensure proper use of PPE and safe work practices
  • Implement ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 systems effectively
  • Conduct HIRA, JSA & Process risk assessments
  • Ensure incident investigation & CAPA with GMP documentation
  • Maintain On-site Emergency plan & Mock drill records

Compliance & Reporting

  • Maintain EHS documentation, permits, and records
  • Prepare and submit regulatory reports and internal safety metrics
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies and external auditors
  • Ensure compliance with and Licenses Factories Act, Fire, PCB & PESO
  • Support USFDA, WHO, GMP, and customer audits related to EHS
  • ESG Implementations.

Training & Awareness

  • Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees and contractors
  • Promote safety awareness and continuous improvement culture
  • Coach managers and supervisors on EHS responsibilities

Leadership & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead EHS initiatives and improvement projects
  • Support emergency response planning and drills
  • Track KPIs and drive performance improvements

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

  • B. Tech (Chemical Engineering) M.Sc. (Chemistry), Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field
  • Professional certifications (NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, CSP, ISO 14001/45001 Lead Auditor) preferred

Experience

  • 15-20 years of EHS experience, including managerial or supervisory roles
  • Strong knowledge of EHS laws, standards, and best practices

Skills

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to conduct audits, inspections, and risk assessments
  • Proficiency in MS Office and EHS management systems

Working Conditions

  • Office and site-based work
  • May require travel and flexible hours
  • Exposure to industrial or construction environments
