Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced EHS professional to lead and manage the Environment, Health, and Safety functions at our state-of-the-art Lithium-Ion Battery Recycling facility in Karnataka. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring full regulatory compliance, implementing robust safety practices, and acting as the primary interface with relevant government bodies and regulatory authorities. Key Responsibilities: EHS Strategy & Compliance Develop and implement EHS policies, standards, and procedures in line with Indian regulations (CPCB, KSPCB, MoEF, etc.). Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental, occupational health, and safety laws specific to hazardous waste and e-waste handling. Conduct periodic audits and risk assessments and implement corrective actions. Government Liaison & Regulatory Interface Build and maintain strong relationships with local, state, and central regulatory authorities including KSPCB, MoEF&CC, CPCB, DISH, and Fire Department. Oversee timely submissions of statutory reports, consent applications, and renewals. Facilitate site inspections, regulatory clearances, and respond to notices/queries from government agencies. Environmental Management Lead initiatives for pollution prevention, waste minimization, air and water quality control, and hazardous material handling. Ensure proper implementation of protocols for safe collection, storage, transportation, and disposal of used lithium-ion batteries. Health & Safety Management Establish a safety-first culture through training, awareness programs, and behavioral safety practices. Lead incident investigations and implement root cause-based corrective actions. Ensure emergency preparedness and conduct regular mock drills. Team Leadership Build and lead a high-performing EHS team; mentor and develop junior staff. Coordinate cross-functional safety committees and EHS review meetings. Qualifications & Skills: Bachelors / Masters degree in Environmental Science, Industrial Safety, Chemical Engineering, or related field. Recognized EHS certifications (NEBOSH, IOSH, etc.) preferred. 12+ years of experience in EHS management, preferably in hazardous waste, recycling, or chemical industries. Proven track record of managing compliance and regulatory processes. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to liaise effectively with government bodies.
