Job Summary:

The Nursing Educator is responsible for planning, developing, and delivering educational programs and clinical training for nursing staff and students. This role ensures continuous professional development, promotes evidence-based practice, and helps maintain high standards of patient care through effective education and mentoring.

Key Responsibilities:

Educational Program Development

  • Design and implement nursing education curricula in line with institutional goals and accreditation standards.
  • Develop lesson plans, training modules, and learning materials using best practices in nursing education.
  • Integrate evidence-based practice and current clinical guidelines into training content.

Training & Instruction

  • Conduct classroom lectures, skills lab sessions, and clinical teaching for nursing students and staff.
  • Organize in-service training programs, workshops, and continuing nursing education (CNE) sessions.
  • Supervise and evaluate students during clinical rotations in collaboration with nursing staff.

Assessment & Evaluation

  • Design and administer assessments to evaluate knowledge and competency.
  • Provide constructive feedback to learners and document progress.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and suggest improvements.

Clinical Competency Support

  • Ensure nursing staff meet required competency standards and clinical protocols.
  • Support orientation and induction programs for newly hired nurses.

Professional Development

  • Promote lifelong learning and career growth opportunities for nurses.
  • Mentor junior nursing staff and support their transition from novice to expert roles.

Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure all training programs meet regulatory and accreditation standards (e.g., INC, NABH, NAAC).
  • Maintain accurate records of teaching activities, student attendance, assessments, and certifications.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Liaise with academic institutions, professional bodies, and internal departments.
  • Participate in curriculum reviews, policy development, and accreditation processes.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • In-depth clinical knowledge and nursing practice expertise
  • Strong teaching, presentation, and public speaking skills
  • Familiarity with adult learning principles and educational methodologies
  • Proficiency in educational technology and LMS platforms
  • Excellent interpersonal, mentoring, and communication abilities
  • Critical thinking and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards in nursing education and hospital accreditation

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSc Nursing) Required
  • Registered Nurse with valid license
  • Minimum 4-5 years of clinical experience
  • Certification in Nursing Education or Clinical Instruction an advantage
