Job Description

Role Overview: As an Education Counselor, your primary responsibility will be to listen to students" academic, emotional, social, and behavioral concerns in an open and non-judgmental way. You will work directly with students to develop solutions and set achievable goals. Additionally, you will assist with conflict mediation and resolution between students, students and teachers, or parents and teachers to ensure students" goals are not disrupted. Your role will also involve providing one-on-one career guidance, skills assessment, and helping students prepare for admissions applications and tests. Key Responsibilities: - Develop solutions and set achievable goals for students. - Assist with conflict mediation and resolution. - Provide one-on-one career guidance and skills assessment. - Help students prepare for admissions applications and tests. - Develop, monitor, and assist with counseling programs. - Offer referrals to outside resources for mental health, substance abuse, or vocational-related activities. - Report student issues to the appropriate state authorities if neglect or abuse is suspected. Qualifications Required: - Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role. - Excellent listening and communication skills. - Ability to provide career guidance and skills assessment. - Knowledge of admissions processes and tests. - Strong conflict resolution skills. - Understanding of counseling programs and resources.
