Editorial Assistant

As an Editorial Assistant for the Books Editorial Projects Management team at Springer Nature Group, your role will involve providing operational project management support to manage the titles and books portfolio through the publication process. Your primary responsibilities will include: - Managing database and systems efficiently - Handling one or more series independently - Undertaking various editorial tasks such as contracting, peer review process, manuscript development, handover to production, and post-publication tasks - Collaborating with authors/editors to oversee content development from signing to publication - Providing guidance to authors/editors on procedures, house style, and manuscript preparation - Coordinating with production and vendors to ensure timely publication of titles - Engaging with colleagues from different departments on a regular basis To excel in this role, you are required to have: - Experience in editorial/publishing or a university degree in a relevant field - Strong team-working skills and the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders - Excellent organization and prioritization skills with the ability to work independently - Resourcefulness and proactive problem-solving abilities - Good publishing business awareness and a quick learning capability - Proficiency in verbal and written English, along with IT systems literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and attention to detail - Ideally, experience in academic publishing in an entry-level editorial capacity Springer Nature values diversity within its teams and fosters an inclusive culture where individuals are treated fairly, bringing their unique perspectives to work.
