Role Scope

experienced and technically skilled SAP EDI Technical Lead

Key Responsibilities

• Define and maintain the

  technical architectural strategy

  for EDI within overall IT strategy.
• Develop and enforce

  quality control standards

  for EDI deliverables and ensure adherence to Fossil IT policies.
• Provide

  technical leadership

  in SAP EDI/API integrations, ensuring technical integrity and non-functional requirements are met.
• Collaborate with

  vendor technical teams and architects

  , ensuring alignment with Fossil’s standards.
• Define and govern

  technical standards, procedures, and policies

  for EDI systems.
• Conduct

  technical reviews of design and architecture

  for projects and service requests.
• Provide

  hands-on technical guidance

  and mentorship to team members.
• Assess the

  impact of new capabilities/systems

  before introduction into the landscape.
• Partner with

  Business Analysts

  to translate business and functional requirements into system designs.
• Research emerging technologies and recommend improvements to ensure cutting-edge EDI/API practices.
  

Required Skills & Experience

• 6–15 years

  of overall IT experience, with a strong focus on

  SAP EDI/API technologies

  .
• Expertise in

  EDI Formats

  : ANSI X12, EDIFACT, XML.
• Skilled in

  mapping tools

  :
• Trading partner onboarding and EDI profile setup.
  
• Design, modification, and troubleshooting of EDI maps.
  
• Job scheduling, data retransmission, and archival.
  
• Deep

  SAP expertise

  :
• IDoc lifecycle management (creation, processing, reprocessing).
  
• Output type configuration and troubleshooting.
  
• Partner profile setup (WE20), EDI customer master data maintenance.
  
• SAP job management and background processing.
  
• Strong technical knowledge of

  communication protocols

  :

• AS2

  – adapter setup, encryption/signing certificates, MDN monitoring.

• SFTP

  – secure file transfers, automation, and error handling.

• HTTPS/REST APIs

  – API development/configuration, logging, retries.

Nice to Have

• CLEO VL Trader

  experience.

• SSCC Labeling for Warehouse

  (GS1 standards, ZPL/PDF formats, EDI integration).

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  
• Advanced SAP/EDI certifications are preferred.
