Job Description

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct applied economic analysis, including cost-benefit assessment, policy evaluation, and basic modelling.
  • Manage and interrogate large datasets, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and reproducibility of results.
  • Build interactive dashboards and reports (e.g. Power BI, Tableau) to present findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Translate raw data into actionable insights that support business cases, socio-economic assessments, and strategic recommendations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (planning, transport, environment, real estate) to integrate economic evidence into broader project deliverables.
  • Contribute to the development of in-house tools, modelling frameworks, and data visualisation standards.
  • Support business development through analytical inputs to proposals, presentations, and client discussions.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree in Economics, Data Science, Statistics, or related field; postgraduate qualification preferred.
  • Strong background in applied economics, quantitative analysis, or policy evaluation.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, R, Python, or Stata) and data visualisation platforms.
  • Experience in building and maintaining dashboards, automating data pipelines, and presenting analysis to senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle and analyse large, complex datasets (e.g. socio-economic, demographic, spatial, or market data).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to distil complex findings into clear narratives.
Desired Skills and Competencies:
  • Experience with GIS and spatial analysis (highly desirable).
  • Familiarity with international datasets and standards (UN, World Bank, national statistics agencies).
  • Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, with a focus on practical, evidence-based solutions.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under time and budget constraints.
  • Passion for innovation, sustainability, and applying data to drive meaningful socio-economic outcomes.
