Dyeing Lab In-Charge

As a candidate with 3 to 8 years of experience in a dyeing lab handling 100% polyester fabrics, your role will involve the following key responsibilities: - **Shade Matching & Recipe Development:** - Perform shade matching for 100% polyester using disperse dyes (high-temperature/HT dyeing). - Develop accurate dyeing recipes and dyeing curves for lab dips. - Ensure lab-to-bulk reproducibility and approve lab dips before production. - Maintain dye bank, shade cards, and shade continuity records. - **Laboratory Operations:** - Oversee daily operations of the dyeing laboratory including lab dips, testing, and color fastness evaluations. - Conduct tests such as wash fastness, rubbing fastness, light fastness, pH testing, absorbency, and dye uptake. - Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of lab equipment like spectrophotometer, lab dyeing machine, GSM cutter, etc. - Maintain color consistency using spectrophotometer and adhere to DE tolerance limits. - **Process Optimization:** - Collaborate with production to optimize dyeing recipes, temperature profiles, chemical dosages, and dyeing times. - Analyze dyeing defects and recommend corrective actions to address issues like patchiness, streaks, barriness, dullness, and tone variation. - Focus on reducing chemical/dye consumption through efficient recipe formulation. - **Coordination & Communication:** - Coordinate with dye house, quality department, merchandising, and R&D teams. - Communicate lab approvals, recipe details, and shade standards to the production team. - Support customer audits and ensure compliance with buyer requirements/standards. - **Quality & Compliance:** - Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and chemical handling standards such as ZDHC, REACH, and OEKO-TEX if applicable. - Monitor chemical expiry, stock usage, and storage conditions. - Maintain lab documentation, reports, and ISO system records. Your profile should include strong knowledge of polyester dyeing using disperse dyes and HT dyeing processes, excellent skills in shade matching and recipe formulation, hands-on experience with spectrophotometers and color management systems, understanding of chemicals, auxiliaries, and dyeing machines, problem-solving ability to reduce shade variations and improve reproducibility, as well as strong leadership and communication skills.
