Dy. Manager/ Asst. Manager - IT Infrastructure

Primary purpose of the role

This role is responsible for implementing infrastructure initiatives across a variety of projects, with a strong focus on automation and continuous improvement along with assisting teams with moving workloads appropriately between private and public cloud.
This role is responsible for all physical and virtual infrastructure, ensuring all aspects of technology and systems are operating in line with Invias HA business requirements.

This role will work on all back-end technology aspects such as maintaining servers, switches, firewalls, & PC's.

The ideal candidate will have experience in an infrastructure role implementing or supporting data center deployed servers, virtualization, storage, backup & DR, database, Cloud and security solutions.

Key accountabilities

• Configure, manage, and troubleshoot FortiGate firewalls (policies, NAT, UTM, IPS, web filtering).
• Implement and support VPN solutions (Site-to-Site and Remote Access VPN).
• Monitor and secure network traffic to ensure compliance with security best practices.
• Perform firewall upgrades, backups, and policy optimization.
• Troubleshoot network connectivity and performance issues.
• Configure and manage network switches (VLANs, trunking, STP, port security).
• Manage and troubleshoot Access Points / Wi-Fi networks.
• Ensure high availability and optimal wireless coverage.
• Handle firmware upgrades and configuration backups.
• Monitor system health, logs, and alerts.
• Perform regular backup verification and restoration.
• Support incident response, root cause analysis, and documentation.
• Coordinate with vendors and ISPs for issue resolution.
• Maintain network and system documentation.

• Working with a global organisation across multiple time zones
• Keeping abreast of current with emerging vulnerabilities, risks, and threats, in addition to understanding their appropriate counter measures.

Key knowledge and experience

• Strong experience with FortiGate Firewall administration
• Good knowledge of VPN technologies
• Hands-on experience with network switches and access points
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, and networking concepts
• Experience with Windows Server and Linux administration
• Familiarity with security best practices
• Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues
• Good communication and documentation skills
• Strong customer centric approach and well-developed interpersonal skills, stakeholder management and influencing skills

Essential requirements

• Appropriate tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or equivalent certification, knowledge, or experience.
