Job Title: Duty Manager (Vice Captain)

Location: Bengaluru

Reports to: Store Manager

Job Summary

The Supervisor/Duty Manager/Vice Captain at SAVOmart is responsible for supporting daily store operations, supervising floor staff, driving customer satisfaction, and ensuring efficient and compliant retail activities. The Supervisor works closely with the Store Manager to achieve sales, service, and operational targets while maintaining high standards of store presentation and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Oversight

  • Assist in running daily store activities, including opening/closing procedures, cash handling, POS operations, and shift transitions.
  • Ensure store standards related to cleanliness, merchandising, stock presentation, and hygiene are met at all times.
  • Monitor inventory levels, replenish stock on shelves, coordinate with store staff for stock rotation, and report shortages or discrepancies.

Team Leadership & People Management

  • Supervise, coach, and mentor front-line staff to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Prepare duty rosters and assign daily tasks to team members.
  • Support onboarding and training of new hires, ensuring adherence to SAVOmart policies and service standards.
  • Monitor staff performance and provide constructive feedback.

Customer Experience

  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by addressing inquiries and resolving complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Promote a customer-first environment through personalized shopping assistance and engagement.

Sales & Reporting

  • Help drive store sales by motivating staff to meet daily and weekly targets.
  • Compile basic performance reports (sales, attendance, inventory movements) for the Store Manager.
  • Assist in visual merchandising initiatives and promotional setups to boost sales.

Compliance & Safety

  • Enforce compliance with operational SOPs, loss prevention measures, safety norms, and cash handling protocols.
  • Assist in routine audits and coordinate corrective actions where needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum

    12th pass (HSC)

    ; diploma/degree in Retail Management, Business, or related field is a plus.
  • Prior experience in retail operations or supervisory capacity preferred.
  • Basic understanding of inventory practices and customer service processes.
