This on-site role supports a clinic-based model focused on accessible first-contact care, preventive services and continuity of treatment for local populations in Madhya Pradesh.Position: Medical Officer (BAMS/BHMS) — Duty Doctor (On-site)Location: Shajapur, Madhya Pradesh | Workplace: On-site | Accommodation: Provided | Salary: Up to INR 50,000/monthRole & Responsibilities
  • Provide on-site duty coverage for outpatient and walk-in patients—conduct clinical assessment, diagnosis, and initiate appropriate treatment plans for common acute and chronic conditions.
  • Perform triage and emergency stabilization for urgent presentations; escalate and coordinate referrals to higher centres when required.
  • Prescribe and administer evidence-based Ayurvedic or Homeopathic therapies consistent with professional standards and clinic protocols.
  • Manage daily OPD workflows, maintain timely documentation of consultations, investigations, prescriptions and follow-up instructions.
  • Deliver patient counselling on treatment adherence, preventive health measures and basic lifestyle modifications tailored to local context.
  • Work on a rostered duty schedule, collaborate with nursing staff and allied health personnel to ensure continuity of care and clinic safety standards.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

  • Degree: BAMS or BHMS (recognized by the appropriate council).
  • Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in outpatient, duty doctor, or primary care settings with demonstrable hands-on patient management.
  • Strong practical knowledge of Ayurvedic or Homeopathic treatment protocols and common community health conditions.
  • Experience in emergency triage and basic emergency care for primary-level facilities.
  • Proficient medical record-keeping and ability to use clinic documentation processes accurately.
  • Willingness to work on-site in Shajapur, Madhya Pradesh and operate shift-based duty rosters.

Preferred

  • Valid registration with the State Medical/AYUSH Council (as applicable).
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Emergency First Aid.
  • Prior experience serving in rural or semi-urban clinics.
