Role Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented and skilled DTP (Desktop Publishing) Operator to join

our editorial team for the UPSC category. The candidate will be responsible for creating,

formatting, and finalizing high-quality print and digital content including textbooks, practice

papers, question banks, and other academic resources. This role requires precision, speed,

and an eye for design to ensure error-free, student-friendly layouts.

Key Responsibilities

 Designing and formatting textbooks, question banks, and exam preparation

materials.

 Preparing clean, well-structured page layouts according to editorial guidelines.

 Handling typesetting of mathematical, tabular, and diagram-based content.

 Working on multi-color layouts, tables, infographics, and charts.

 Incorporating editorial corrections, proofreader’s marks, and author inputs

efficiently.

 Preparing print-ready PDFs and ensuring alignment with printer’s specifications.

 Coordinating with the editorial team, designers, and printers to ensure timely

delivery.

 Ensuring consistency in fonts, spacing, margins, and styles across all publications.

 Maintaining version control and file management for different projects.

 Supporting the creation of digital outputs (eBooks, PDFs, promotional creatives) as

required.

Required Skills & Competencies

 Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, CorelDraw, Illustrator, Photoshop, and MS Office.

 Strong knowledge of typesetting, page layout, and design principles.

 Experience in handling academic/educational publishing will be an advantage.

 Ability to work with mathematical equations, tables, and charts.

 Keen eye for detail, accuracy, and speed.

 Good understanding of print production processes.

 Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Qualifications

 Graduate / Diploma in DTP, Graphic Design, Printing Technology, or related field.

 2–5 years of experience as a DTP Operator in publishing, preferably

educational/academic books.

 Freshers with strong skills and portfolio may also be considered.
