Door and Hardware Estimation Engineer

Role & responsibilities:

• Review and analyze project drawings, specifications, and BOQ to identify door and hardware requirements.
• Prepare detailed material take-offs and quantity estimates for wooden, steel, and fire-rated doors, along with associated hardware.
• Select appropriate hardware sets based on door functionality, usage, and standards (UL, BS, NFPA, etc.).
• Obtain supplier and manufacturer quotations and compare technical and commercial compliance.
• Prepare complete cost estimates including material, labor, transportation, and installation costs.
• Coordinate with the design, procurement, and project teams to ensure technical compatibility and value engineering.
• Prepare technical submittals and compliance statements for client approval.
• Maintain a database of suppliers, price lists, and historical cost data for reference in future tenders.
• Assist the sales and project teams with technical clarifications and revisions during bid and execution stages.
• Ensure that all estimates are completed within deadlines and according to company standards.

Preferred candidate profile:

Education:

• Bachelors degree in mechanical, Civil, Architectural, or Industrial Engineering (preferred).

Experience:

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in estimation of doors, frames, and architectural hardware (fire-rated, wooden, steel, or security).
• Experience with door/hardware suppliers and brands such as Dorma, Assa Abloy, Hafele, GEZE, etc. is an advantage.

Technical Skills:

• Strong understanding of door and hardware schedules, fire ratings, and installation details.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel, and estimation software.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and MEP drawings.
• Familiarity with international standards (NFPA, BS, UL, ANSI/BHMA).

Soft Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tenders simultaneously.

Preferred:

• Knowledge of project costing and ERP systems.
• Understanding of commercial and contractual aspects of bidding
