Director of Finance

Role Overview: As the senior-most hire in finance at BiteSpeed, you will play a crucial role in overseeing all financial operations of the company. Your responsibilities will include budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and day-to-day financial operations. You will work closely with the CEO, executive team, and investors to develop and execute financial strategies that drive growth and profitability. With the company's goal of growing from $5M to $50M in ARR, your role will be pivotal in maintaining financial rigour and laying a strong foundation for future growth. Key Responsibilities: - Oversee and ensure adherence to all statutory compliance requirements, including Provident Fund (PF), Professional Tax (PT), and Goods and Services Tax (GST), etc. - Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic planning and decision-making processes. - Manage budgeting and forecasting processes, collaborating with department heads for accurate and timely financial reporting. - Monitor cash flow and optimize working capital for efficient cash management. - Manage relationships with external stakeholders such as investors, banks, and auditors. - Support fundraising efforts by developing investor presentations and financial projections. - Implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices. - Drive operational efficiency by monitoring costing activities and identifying saving initiatives. - Oversee the completion of statutory audits from a big 4 audit firm. Qualifications Required: - 8+ years of experience in finance controllership, accounting, or a related field. - Experience in building the finance function from 0-1 for a scaling SaaS company. - Willingness to adapt to the uncertainties of the early stage and be a generalist. - Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. - Previous experience working in SaaS accounting is an added advantage.
