Director of Finance

Role Overview: You will be joining a Sequoia-backed SaaS startup, BiteSpeed, as the senior finance hire to oversee all financial operations of the company. Your role will involve ensuring financial rigour, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and day-to-day financial operations to drive growth and profitability as the company scales from $5M to $50M in ARR over the next couple of years. Key Responsibilities: - Oversee and ensure adherence to all statutory compliance requirements, including Provident Fund (PF), Professional Tax (PT), and Goods and Services Tax (GST), etc. - Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic planning and decision-making processes. - Manage budgeting and forecasting, working closely with department heads for accurate financial reporting. - Monitor cash flow, optimize working capital, and manage relationships with external stakeholders. - Support fundraising efforts by developing investor presentations and financial projections. - Implement financial policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and best practices. - Drive operational efficiency by monitoring costing activities and identifying saving initiatives. - Oversee completion of statutory audit from a big 4 audit firm. Qualifications Required: - 8+ years of experience in finance controllership, accounting, or a related field. - Experience in building the finance function from 0-1 for a scaling SaaS company. - Ability to adapt to the uncertainty of early stage and understand budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting thoroughly. - Past experience working in SaaS accounting is a plus.
