Job Description

Director of Finance

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning & Decision Making:

    Develop strategies to improve profitability, including cost-benefit analysis and exploring new business opportunities. Analyze financial information, forecast sales against expenses, and create comprehensive annual budgets. Identify underlying principles of data to support effective decision-making and implement appropriate controls to manage business risks and safeguard assets.
  • Leading Finance Teams:

    Utilize strong interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and motivate the finance team. Clearly communicate strategic goals and owner priorities. Oversee internal, external, and regulatory audit processes, ensuring accountability and adherence to standards.
  • Stakeholder Management:

    Anticipate and deliver on the needs of key stakeholders (owners, corporate, guests). Advise the General Manager and executive committee on financial issues, communicating complex financial concepts clearly. Effectively manage communication with owners and ensure property working capital and cash flow align with brand and owner requirements.
  • Financial Goal Achievement:

    Ensure accurate documentation of Profits and Losses. Monitor all applicable taxes for current status, collection, and accrual. Submit timely reports and actively work towards achieving performance and budget goals, improving profit growth across operating departments.
  • Project & Policy Management:

    Generate accurate and timely financial reports and presentations. Reconcile balance sheets, ensure P&L accuracy, and maintain compliance with management contracts, reporting requirements, and all standard and local operating procedures.
  • Human Resources Activities:

    Facilitate cross-training for team members to ensure seamless daily operations. Administer property policies fairly and consistently. Oversee the orientation and training of new hires, and develop appropriate development plans for team members based on their strengths, needs, and career aspirations. Participate in hiring as needed.

Candidate Profile

  • Education & Experience:4-year bachelor's degree

    in Finance and Accounting or a related major with

    3 years of experience

    in finance and accounting or a related professional area.
  • OR

  • Master's degree

    in Finance and Accounting or a related major with

    1 year of experience

    in finance and accounting or a related professional area.
