Job Description

As the Director of Engineering, you will lead the development of high-impact technology solutions and oversee the growth and evolution of our engineering teams. You will play a critical role in shaping the future of our engineering organization, driving cross-functional collaboration, and delivering scalable, secure, and high-performing systems. This is a strategic leadership role that requires deep technical expertise, strong execution, and the ability to guide large, complex initiatives. You will be responsible for fostering a customer-first mindset, building and mentoring high-performing teams, and ensuring the long-term technical success of our products as they grow and scale. You will work closely with Engineering, Product, and Business teams to drive alignment on customer experiences and engineering frameworks, making critical decisions to drive success. It is expected that you design and implement 0 1 solutions with a focus on scalability, transitioning them quickly from 1 n across multiple products. Building and leading high-performing engineering teams will be a key responsibility, collaborating with Product, Design, and Leadership to convert ideas into quality products. Additionally, fostering a customer-first mindset and empowering teams to take ownership and deliver high-quality products is essential. Operational excellence, stability, and scalability are crucial aspects that you must ensure as products evolve and mature. Setting clear priorities, allocating resources effectively, and providing teams with the necessary tools and guidance to succeed are also part of your role. Furthermore, you are expected to offer technical guidance, career development, and mentorship to team members, supporting their growth and driving the technical success of the team. Qualifications required for this position include 12+ years of overall experience, with 3+ years of experience in Engineering Management leading diverse engineering teams (frontend, backend, mobile). A strong background in software engineering methodologies with a focus on testing, code quality, and the ability to balance quality and speed is necessary. Exceptional technical skills in backend systems, significant experience in building and operating high-scale systems, as well as strong design and architectural skills to guide the development of scalable solutions are also must-haves. Soft skills and traits that are crucial for the role include proven ability to build and grow teams, strong management and team development skills, and the ability to provide frequent feedback, support career growth, and drive continuous improvement across teams.
