Director, Engineering

As a Director of Engineering at Automation Anywhere's India Development Centre, your role involves managing all technology-related tasks and day-to-day operations to enable business needs. You will lead the development staff, enhance existing systems, and maintain high-quality design, development, and documentation standards. Your expertise in working across multiple functional areas and successfully building large software development teams is essential for this role. **Key Responsibilities:** - Lead development efforts for Business Solutions products from India Software Development division. - Provide leadership and direction for development and SDET teams to ensure knowledge management, training, and successful technical implementations. - Oversee recruitment, engineering delivery, quality, and management processes. - Drive the implementation of new technologies/components, including AI technologies, while emphasizing re-use and extensibility of the existing technology stack. - Focus on delivering high-quality software and integration points to achieve short and long-term objectives. - Implement and iterate on Software Development and Security Development lifecycles, promoting best practices. - Enable cross-geographical collaboration and create centers of excellence. - Manage stakeholders across multiple functions and geographies, focusing on customer satisfaction and continuous improvement of metrics. - Maintain an innovative and problem-solving mindset. **Qualifications:** - Degree in Computer Engineering or equivalent, with a minimum of 10 years leading a Software Development division (Masters degree is a plus). - 15+ years of experience in software development or application delivery, with hands-on development experience. - Strong technical background in Cloud technologies, Java or C programming, system design, and end-to-end software development and delivery. - Exposure to emerging AI technologies is advantageous. - Ability to manage multiple tasks, demonstrate attention to detail, responsibility, and critical thinking. - Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate across various locations and cultures. - Thrive in a fast-paced environment, adept at navigating and managing change. - Proficient in delving into technical and design aspects to provide solutions and alternative approaches to software engineering problems. - Experience in direct customer interactions and exceptional customer management skills.
