Director, Engineering

As a Director Engineering at the India Development Centre, your role involves managing all technology-related tasks and day-to-day operations to enable business needs. You will lead the development staff to enhance existing systems, maintain quality of design and documentation, and create a learning organization of developers. Your expertise in working across multiple functional areas and successfully building and mentoring large software development teams will be crucial. **Key Responsibilities:** - Lead development efforts for Business Solutions products from India Software Development division. - Provide leadership and direction for development and SDET teams to identify knowledge management, training, and execution for all technical implementations. - Provide oversight for recruitment, engineering delivery, quality, and management. - Drive implementation of new technologies/components, including active adoption of AI technologies, while championing re-use and extensibility of existing technology stack. - Focus on consistent delivery of high-quality software and integration points to achieve short and long-term objectives. - Implement and continuously iterate on the company's Software Development and Security Development lifecycles, while promoting and enforcing best practices. - Enable cross-geographical collaboration and creation of centers of excellence. - Manage stakeholders across multiple functions and geographies, with a constant focus on customer satisfaction metrics. - Maintain an innovative, problem-solving mindset. **Qualifications:** - Degree in Computer Engineering or equivalent, with a minimum of 10 years leading a Software Development division. Masters is a plus. - 15+ years of experience in software development or application delivery, with hands-on development background. - Strong technical expertise in Cloud technologies, Java or C programming, system design, and end-to-end software development and delivery. - Exposure to emerging AI technologies is advantageous. - Ability to manage multiple tasks, be detail-oriented, responsible, and exhibit a high level of critical thinking. - Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills to work across multiple geographical locations and cultures. - Thrive in a fast-paced environment, adept at navigating and managing change. - Capable of delving into technical and design aspects to provide solutions and alternate approaches to software engineering problems. - Experience in direct customer interaction and exceptional customer management skills.
