Digital : Cloud Computing(Cloud Database Engineer)

Job Responsibilities

• Incident Resolution:

  Provide L2 technical support for incidents and service requests related to cloud database systems (e.g., RDS for MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.), ensuring timely resolution to meet SLAs.

• Troubleshooting:

  Diagnose and resolve complex database-related issues, such as performance bottlenecks, connectivity problems, and data inconsistencies, by conducting root cause analysis.

• Performance Tuning:

  Monitor database performance using cloud-native tools (e.g., CloudWatch) and optimize queries, configurations, and indexing strategies to ensure optimal performance.

• Database Management:

  Perform routine database maintenance tasks, including backups, restores, patching, upgrades, and user access management.

• Automation:

  Develop and implement scripts (e.g., Python, Bash) to automate routine database administration tasks, such as monitoring, backups, and deployments.

• Security:

  Implement and enforce database security measures, including user access controls, encryption, and vulnerability management, in accordance with security policies.

• Documentation:

  Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.

Required Experience:

• Total Experience:

  35 years of hands-on experience in database administration, with at least 2 years focusing on cloud-based database services.

• Cloud Database Skills:

• Strong practical experience with Amazon RDS for various database engines (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, etc.).
• Hands-on experience with other database services like Amazon Aurora, DynamoDB, or DocumentDB is a plus.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in SQL query optimization and debugging.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Bash for automation.
• Solid understanding of backup and recovery procedures.
• Experience with Linux or Windows operating systems.
• Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools, such as AWS CloudWatch.

• Operational Experience:

  Knowledge of ITIL-based processes for incident, problem, and change management.
