You will have at least 4 years of experience in software development filed with coding experience. As a specialist within our Earth & Environment section in particular UK Ground & Water team working on a range of projects spanning; specialist/expert input into major infrastructure, built development, water resources, environment studies and mine water schemes. Responsibilities Taking ownership of the design and implementation of new visualisation/rendering coding within the WSP UK FracMan software tool used in the international geoscientific community. Designing efficient high-quality code for scalable scientific applications. Working with other developers to deliver tested and documented code. Designing and implementing software solutions for use on desktop, cloud, and web-based systems (eg, for data management, simulation physical systems and visualisation) within the geoscience domain. As a specialist within our Earth & Environment section you will take up a supporting position in our UK based Geoscience Modelling Team (comprising ~11 staff nationally, a further 15+ internationally) working on a commercial software used within range of applications spanning the Energy, Nuclear, Infrastructure and Mining sectors. We would love to hear from you if you have these essential skills: Are a software engineer experienced in design and implementation of bespoke software solutions. Have strong experience of software development in C++. Have strong experience in OpenGL shading language (GLSL). Have experience in design and implementation of 3D rendering algorithms on Microsoft Windows applications. Have strong experience using Visual Studio under Microsoft Windows. Have experienced in High Performance Computing approaches and optimisation strategies. Involved in numerical modelling and programming within the science industry. Have a strong track record of development of numerical modelling tools and data analysis/visualisation applications. Possess excellent written and verbal communications skills to effectively interface with teams and clients, including proficiency in the English language. Have a positive attitude and the ability to work well with others. Experience with source code management tools such as git, git-lfs, github/gitlab, Have strong experience using Visual Studio and Microsoft Windows Desired Skills Having experience with multi-threaded SW development and design Having experience with DBMS . Qualifications Hold a bachelors degree or higher in a Computer, Earth or Physical Science related field with 4+ years of experience as software developer
