Design Technical Assistant

• Assist faculty and students in operating design tools, machinery, and digital equipment (e.g., printers, laser cutters, plotters, sewing machines, etc.).
• Provide technical support for studio/lab classes and workshops.
• Help in setting up materials, prototypes, and displays for student projects and reviews.
• Maintain design labs/studios, ensure availability of materials and consumables, and monitor equipment functionality.
• Organize and maintain inventory of design tools, software licenses, and materials.
• Support in the installation and technical execution of exhibitions, events, and design showcases.
• Ensure safety protocols are followed in studio/lab environments.
• Provide basic software support (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, CAD tools, CorelDraw, etc.).
• Coordinate with vendors for equipment servicing and supply procurement as required.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Design, Applied Arts, Fine Arts, Computer Science, or relevant Engineering branch, with experience in design lab support and digital tools.

1–3 years in design labs or studios, assisting with equipment, software, and student project support.

• Diploma/Bachelor’s in Design, Visual Arts, Animation, Fine Arts, or related disciplines.
• Prior experience in a technical or workshop assistant role in a design school or studio preferred.
• Basic knowledge of fabrication tools, studio materials, and digital design software.
• Familiarity with software like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, CorelDraw, AutoCAD, SketchUp, etc.
• Good organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and provide hands-on support in a dynamic, creative environment.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with prototyping equipment (3D printers, CNC, laser cutter, etc.).
• Knowledge of fashion lab tools (if applicable) like industrial sewing machines, pattern cutting.
• Basic understanding of digital fabrication and design thinking processes.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
