Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field

Experience:

• Above 10 years of experience in mechanical product design, preferably in the electro-

mechanical or precision component domain

• Strong expertise in 3D CAD modelling, tolerance stack-up, plastic/metal part design,

and GD&T

• Experience managing small to mid-size design teams and delivering successful product

designs

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Lead the mechanical design activities for electro-mechanical products such as power

electronic relays, actuators, enclosures, and smart meter components.

• Ensure product designs meet performance, reliability, safety, and cost requirements.
• Drive concept-to-production design development including 3D modelling, 2D drafting,

and design calculations.

• Define mechanical specifications based on product and customer requirements.
• Conduct design reviews, DFMEA, and tolerance analysis.
• Support prototype development, mechanical testing, fit & function validation, and

failure analysis.

• Support DFM (Design for Manufacturability), DFA (Design for Assembly), and
• Interface with toolmakers and component suppliers for molded, stamped, and machined

parts.

• Provide technical input for tooling design, material selection, and manufacturing

feasibility.

• Oversee the use of CAD software for modelling and detailing.
• Manage and mentor a team of mechanical design engineers and drafters.
• Allocate work, track progress, and ensure on-time project delivery.

• Ensure all designs comply with relevant mechanical, environmental, and safety

standards (e.g.,BIS, IEC, UL).

• Maintain proper documentation for design traceability and audits.
• Drive value engineering and design-to-cost initiatives.
• Ensure the right balance of performance, manufacturability, and cost.
• Promote innovative design approaches and use of new materials or technologies.
• Contribute to patent filings and technical knowledge base development.
