Design Lead

Role Overview: You will be responsible for designing and developing innovative seasonal wear collections in line with fashion trends and brand aesthetics. Your role will involve creating sketches, mood boards, and digital illustrations for proposed designs, selecting fabrics, trims, colors, and embellishments, and conducting trend and market research to analyze competitor collections and consumer preferences. Additionally, you will collaborate with various teams to ensure the quality, feasibility, and brand alignment of the designs. Key Responsibilities: - Design & Concept Development: - Create innovative seasonal wear collections aligned with fashion trends and brand aesthetics. - Prepare sketches, mood boards, and digital illustrations for proposed designs. - Select fabrics, trims, colors, and embellishments for each collection. - Trend & Market Research: - Research global and local fashion trends, seasonal colors, and consumer preferences. - Analyze competitor collections and market demands for brand competitiveness. - Sampling & Production Support: - Work with merchandisers, pattern makers, and production teams to translate designs into final products. - Oversee sample development and ensure quality and fit corrections. - Ensure designs are cost-effective and feasible for production. - Collaboration & Communication: - Collaborate with supply chain and marketing teams to align designs with demand and timelines. - Present design collections to management and internal stakeholders. - Quality & Brand Alignment: - Ensure designs meet quality standards and reflect brand identity. - Incorporate sustainability practices where possible. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or related field. - 8-10 years of experience as a fashion/garment designer, preferably in seasonal wear or apparel brands. - Strong sketching, illustration, and CAD skills (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CorelDRAW, CLO 3D). - In-depth knowledge of fabrics, garment construction, and production processes. - Creative mindset with attention to detail, trend awareness, and strong communication and teamwork skills.
