Job Description

Design & Engineering Deliverables

Develop detailed MEPF design drawings (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire) in compliance with codes and project specifications.
Ensure design coordination with other disciplines (structural, architectural, civil, HVAC) and resolution of clashes.
Incorporate value-engineering suggestions (cost/time savings) in design stage.

Estimation & Costing

Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates (quantities, unit rates, labour, materials, subcontractor costs) for MEPF works.
Update estimate revisions based on scope changes and maintain estimation database/rates.
Work with procurement and project controls to feed estimate into budget and tendering process.

Schedule & Delivery

Meet design milestones and ensure deliverables are issued on time per project schedule.
Ensure estimation output supports timely bid submission or project budget sign-off.

Quality & Compliance

Ensure design and estimates meet regulatory requirements, codes (local & international), safety standards, and client specifications.
Minimise design/estimate re-work and errors.

Cost Control & Optimization

Through estimation and design, identify opportunities to reduce cost without compromising quality or safety.
Monitor actual cost vs estimate/ budget and feed back lessons into future estimates.

Collaboration & Communication

Liaise with project managers, procurement, site engineering, clients and consultants to align scope, designs and cost.
Provide clear design and estimate documentation and justifications for decisions.

Continuous Improvement & Learning

Update estimation rates/benchmarks based on actual project outcomes.
Improve design tools, workflows and estimation methods for efficiency and accuracy.
