Design & Estimation Engineer

Role Description:

We are seeking an experienced Estimation & Design Engineer with strong expertise in electrical power distribution systems, panel design, and project estimation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for interpreting client requirements, preparing techno-commercial offers, and developing accurate design documents aligned with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Estimation:

• Study and understand SLD (Single Line Diagrams), BOQ (Bill of Quantities), tender drawings, and project specifications.
• Prepare accurate cost estimations, pricing sheets, and techno-commercial quotations.
• Identify material requirements, gather vendor quotations, and perform cost comparison.
• Coordinate with the sales and engineering team for offer preparation and clarifications.
• Ensure timely submission of proposals and compliance with technical specifications.

Design:

• Prepare GAD (General Arrangement Drawings) for HT/LT panels, MCCs, PCCs, Distribution Boards, and other electrical equipment.
• Develop design documents based on client specifications, standards, and site requirements.
• Work closely with the engineering team to finalize design details and panel layouts.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant IEC standards and IPCE's internal quality guidelines.
• Modify and update drawings as per client feedback and project needs.

General:

• Coordinate with production, procurement, and quality teams during project execution.
• Attend client meetings for technical discussions and design validation.
• Maintain documentation for all estimation and design activities.
• Support continuous improvement of design processes and tools.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of SLD, BOQ, electrical components, and panel engineering.
• Hands-on experience with AutoCAD, E-Plan, or similar design tools.
• Expertise in preparing GADs, electrical layouts, and panel schematics.
• In-depth knowledge of IEC 61439, IS standards, and electrical codes.
• Excellent analytical, calculation, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and under deadlines.
