Design Engineer

The Senior Design Engineer will be responsible for the design, detailing, and optimization of sheet metal and structural fabrication components, including MS angles, beams, channels, and fabricated assemblies. The role requires close coordination with manufacturing and project teams to ensure technically sound, cost-effective, and manufacturable designs.

Key Responsibilities

* Design and detail sheet metal and structural steel components and assemblies

* Prepare GA drawings, fabrication drawings, and shop drawings

* Develop accurate 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD software

* Perform basic design and structural calculations

* Create and maintain BOMs, material specifications, and cut lists

* Coordinate with production and fabrication teams for design feasibility

* Optimize designs for manufacturing processes such as cutting, bending, welding, and assembly

* Ensure compliance with engineering standards, codes, and safety requirements

* Provide technical support during fabrication and installation

Qualifications

* Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical / Production / Structural Engineering

* 2–4 years of experience in engineering manufacturing or structural fabrication

* Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, Tekla, or similar CAD tools

* Strong knowledge of sheet metal design and structural steel sections

* Ability to read and interpret fabrication and structural drawings

Preferred Skills

* Knowledge of welding symbols, GD&T, and fabrication practices

* Familiarity with IS / ASTM / ISO standard

* Exposure to structural detailing software (Tekla / Advance Steel)

* Understanding of surface treatments such as painting and galvanizing.
