Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Design cables as per international standards (IEC, BS, UL, VDE, ICEA, etc.) and customer specifications.
Select appropriate conductor materials, insulation, sheathing, armouring, and screening based on electrical, thermal, mechanical, and environmental requirements.
Perform electrical and thermal calculations including current carrying capacity, voltage drop, and short-circuit rating.
Prepare detailed cable construction drawings, datasheets, and technical documentation.
Generate Bill of Materials (BOM) and costing inputs for tendering and order execution.
Coordinate with sales and business development teams for techno-commercial proposals.
Interact with customers, certification agencies (like UL/CE), and consultants for approvals and clarifications.
Provide technical support during product development, prototyping, and production trials.
Keep up to date with new materials, technologies, and industry trends.
