Design Engineer - Electrical

Role & responsibilities

• Ensure accuracy and compliance of electrical working drawings with project standards.
• Coordinate electrical layouts with civil, architectural, HVAC, plumbing, and fire-fighting services.
• Resolve technical issues with site teams and contractors.
• Support timely execution and quality assurance of electrical works.
• Obtain drawing approvals and maintain drawing logs and ISO documentation.
• Delegate and verify quantity take-offs.
• Issue approved drawings to site and prepare record drawings.
• Identify additional work and inform the Project Manager.

Key Skills

• Expertise in MV, LV, and ELV electrical systems for commercial/light industrial buildings.
• Proficient in design software (Dialux, ETAP) and electrical calculations.
• Knowledge of international and GCC codes, including Dubai/Abu Dhabi regulations.
• Familiarity with BMS, UPS, solar systems, fire alarm, CCTV, access control, and data systems.
• Strong communication, documentation, and coordination skills.
• Ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
• Active team player with leadership and training capabilities.

Preferred candidate profile

Graduate in Electrical Engineering (B.E. / B.Tech) / Diploma in Electrical Engineering along with: • Approved training in Electrical / ELV Field Knowledge of BIM softwares such as Revit & Navisworks would be an advantage

10 years engineering experience with at least 2 years for a Graduate Engineer OR 15 years engineering experience with at least 4 years for Diploma Engineer in the preparation of Electrical & ELV drawings. • Minimum 2 years of experience in Site experience in installation / execution (Preferably in GCC Countries) • Knowledge of Air Conditioning & Plumbing / Fire Fighting systems would be an advantage • Hands on experience in Revit / Navisworks would be an advantage
