Design Engineer

Main responsibilities:

• Proficiently using the 3D modelling software UGNX with Teamcenter as PLM. Prepare
  designs and drawings with CAD (UGNX).
  


• Effective co-ordination with design project leaders to deliver qualitative design solutions.


• Designing parts of bare block compressor considering the manufacturing feasibility, assembly requirements and applications.


• Ensure that the design complies to guidelines from CAD handbooks. Extensively use international standards, sample drawings, calculation templates and Burckhardt
  compressions design guidelines.
  


• Checking the adequacy of input data. Preparing detailed time estimation to complete the project. If needed, clarifying the required inputs and required time with project leaders.


• Clarification with the work preparation department to optimise parts from a production point of view.
  Preparation of drawings for the procurement of casting patterns. Optimise the casting design in cooperation with the procurement department.
  


• Creation of Single parts, sub-assembly drawings, assemblies, and cross-section of the bare block compressor.


• Preparation of additional order-dependent documents. For example, calculations with Excel templates, preparing technical output tables and typical project related documents.


• Creation of fabrications drawings, models according to the guidelines in our manuals.


• Regularly updating the progress of projects to team leaders in an efficient and predefined manner.


• Interacting with project owners for resolution of queries.


• Documenting the gained technical knowledge and recording the lessons learnt for improvement in deliverables.


• Making improvement proposals for further development of individual components, modules or even assembly units.


• Making suggestions to improve the application of the CAD system NX, continuously check if there is anything in our manuals that can get improved and optimized. Suggestions are submitted to the power user team.


• Personal contribution to continuous improvement

Education / Experience:

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.


• Experience in designing mechanical parts and assemblies.


• 3-6 years experience in 3D CAD preferably in UGNX.


• Experience with ERP systems preferably SAP.


• Application of common tools in the office package (Word, Excel and PowerPoint
