Deputy Quality Manager

Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

1. Quality System & Compliance

• Support in implementing QA/QC strategies in alignment with global standards.
  
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015, ASME (Section VIII, Div. 1), and other codes like API, DIN, ASTM, PED, GMP, etc.
  
• Assist in preparing for customer and third-party audits.
  

2. Quality Management System (QMS)

• Conduct and monitor internal audits, process audits, and supplier audits.
  
• Ensure closure of non-conformities through CAPA implementation.
  
• Maintain quality documentation including PPAP, FMEA, NCR, CAPA, and 8D reports.
  

3. Product & Process Quality

• Ensure quality control for pressure vessels, mixers, and process equipment.
  
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and drive corrective/preventive actions.
  
• Support validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ).
  

4. Vendor Development & Audits

• Evaluate vendors on quality, reliability, and delivery performance.
  
• Conduct vendor quality audits and provide improvement feedback.
  

5. Team & Process Improvement

• Guide and support QA/QC engineers in daily inspections and documentation.
  
• Promote continuous improvement practices (Kaizen, 5S, Six Sigma tools).
  
• Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and quality awareness.
  

6. Customer Interface & Complaint Resolution

• Support customer visits, FAT inspections, and external audits.
  
• Handle customer complaints with timely RCA and documentation.

• High attention to detail and process-oriented mindset
  
• Ability to manage and mentor junior QA/QC engineers
  

Preferred candidate profile

Technical Expertise

• Education:

  B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Chemical (Mandatory), M.E./M.Tech preferred

• Certifications (Preferred):

• ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor
  
• Six Sigma (Green Belt preferred)
  
• Welding / NDT certifications will be an advantage
