Department Manager (Technology Center South Asia)

Role Overview: As the R&D Department Manager for TC South Asia at Hitachi Energy India, you will lead the development of new HV products for High Voltage Circuit Breakers and Switchgear in collaboration with global technology centers. Your primary responsibility will be to manage a skilled team to introduce innovative HV products to the market effectively. Key Responsibilities: - Identify new product development projects in coordination with product management and technology managers - Develop and implement strategic plans for project execution within cost, budget, and timeline constraints - Collaborate with Global Product Management and Technology Management to ensure alignment on product tech. requirements, projects, and costs - Build and nurture a highly skilled team proficient in design, simulations, project management, and testing - Encourage R&D teams to drive product innovation, development, and enhancement initiatives - Collaborate with global TC team and project managers to achieve project goals - Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution and production introduction - Stay updated on regulatory requirements and standards for high voltage products to ensure compliance in design and development Qualifications Required: - Bachelors/Masters degree in electrical engineering or related field (Masters degree preferred) - 10-15 years of experience in HV Switchgear/Related HV Electrical products/R&D, preferably in the high voltage industry - Strong understanding of high voltage products, market dynamics, and customer requirements - Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills - Proven ability to drive product development, enhancement, type testing, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment - Proficiency in both spoken and written English language (Note: The additional details of the company mentioned in the JD have been omitted as they were related to accommodation requests for individuals with disabilities.),
