Department Manager (Technology Center South Asia)

Role Overview: As the R&D Department Manager for TC South Asia at Hitachi Energy India, your primary role will involve managing the development of new HV products for High Voltage Circuit Breakers and Switchgear in collaboration with other technology centers of Hitachi Energy globally. You will be instrumental in building a competent and skilled team capable of introducing innovative HV products into the product portfolio. Key Responsibilities: - Identify projects for new product development needs in coordination with product management and technology managers - Develop and implement strategic plans to ensure timely and cost-effective project execution - Collaborate with Global Product Management and Technology Management to define product tech. requirements, project scope, and cost - Develop and retain a highly skilled team proficient in areas such as design, simulations, project management, and testing - Foster a culture of innovation within R&D teams to drive product development and enhancement initiatives - Collaborate with global TC team and other project managers to manage cross TC projects effectively - Work closely with cross-functional teams including operations, quality, SCM, and product management to ensure seamless project execution and production introduction - Stay informed about regulatory requirements and standards related to high voltage products to ensure compliance in product design and development - Ensure adherence to external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines while upholding Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's / Master's degree in electrical engineering or a related field (Master's degree preferred) - Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in HV Switchgear / Related HV Electrical products / R&D, preferably in the high voltage industry - Strong understanding of high voltage products, market dynamics, and customer requirements - Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills - Proven track record of driving product development, enhancement, type testing, and delivering results in a fast-paced environment - Proficiency in both spoken and written English language Please note that additional details about the company were not provided in the job description.,
