Job Description


Key Responsibilities:

Food Preparation & Cooking

  • Prepare and cook Western dishes (e.g., grills, pastas, sauces, steaks, and roasts) as per recipes and standards.

  • Assist the Chef de Partie in menu planning and new dish creation.

  • Ensure portion control and minimize food wastage.

  • Maintain the presentation, taste, and quality of all dishes.

Kitchen Operations

  • Support in daily mise-en-place and ensure readiness for service.

  • Maintain kitchen equipment and report any maintenance needs.

  • Ensure that all stock is rotated properly and stored under correct conditions.

Hygiene & Safety

  • Follow all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards (HACCP).

  • Keep workstations clean, organized, and safe at all times.

  • Adhere to all hotel safety and hygiene policies.

Teamwork & Communication

  • Work collaboratively with other kitchen team members.

  • Support junior staff in learning and development.

  • Communicate effectively with service staff to ensure smooth service.


Qualifications

  • Diploma or certification in Culinary Arts or equivalent.

  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a similar position, preferably in a hotel or fine-dining restaurant.

  • Strong knowledge of Western cuisine techniques and ingredients.

  • Good understanding of food hygiene and safety standards.

  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.

  • Positive attitude, team player, and willingness to learn.


Additional Information

  • Able to stand for long periods and work in a hot kitchen environment.

  • Flexibility to work different shifts, including weekends and holidays.
