Job Description

Oracle DBA & RAC
- Expert Troubleshooting & Resolution:
  Act as the final escalation point (L3/L4) for all critical, complex, and high-impact production issues related to Oracle Database, Oracle RAC, ASM, and Data Guard. Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement permanent solutions.
- High Availability & Disaster Recovery (HA/DR):
  - Design, implement, and manage complex HA/DR solutions using Oracle RAC, Data Guard (Physical and Logical), and Active Data Guard.
  - Perform multi-node cluster configuration, maintenance, and advanced troubleshooting for Oracle RAC.
  - Lead disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution.
- Performance Tuning & Optimization:
  - Perform advanced SQL and PL/SQL tuning, query optimization, and application-level performance analysis.
  - Proactively monitor and tune database parameters, memory structures (SGA/PGA), and I/O to ensure peak performance for VLDBs (Very Large Databases).
  - Utilize tools like AWR, ASH, and OEM for in-depth performance diagnostics.
- Database Management & Strategy:
  - Lead major database upgrade and migration projects (e.g., cross-platform, version upgrades).
  - Develop and enforce database security policies (e.g., encryption, auditing, user/role management).
  - Design and implement capacity planning and storage strategies for future growth.
- Mentorship & Automation:
  Mentor L1/L2 DBA teams. Drive the automation of complex and routine DBA tasks using scripting (Shell, Python, Ansible) and Oracle management tools.
- Architecture & Design:
  Collaborate with Solution Architects and Development teams on new database deployments and architectural standards.
SQL DBA, MSSQL
- High Availability & Disaster Recovery (HA/DR):
  - Design, configure, and manage high-end HA/DR solutions, including Always On Availability Groups (AGs), Failover Cluster Instances (FCIs), Replication, and Log Shipping.
  - Expertly troubleshoot complex AG and FCI failovers, synchronization issues, and network dependencies.
- Performance & Query Optimization:
  - Perform deep-dive performance analysis, including analyzing execution plans, identifying bottlenecks, and optimizing highly complex T-SQL queries and stored procedures.
  - Manage and optimize indexes, statistics, and buffer pool configurations.
  - Tune SSIS packages and SSRS reports for efficiency.
- Database Strategy & Security:
  - Plan and execute major SQL Server upgrades, patching, and migrations (cloud and on-premise).
  - Implement and audit security controls, including encryption (TDE), authentication modes, and granular permission management.
  - Develop and maintain standards for database design and configuration hardening.
- Automation & Scripting:
  Develop advanced PowerShell and/or Python scripts to automate monitoring, maintenance, capacity reporting, and patching processes.
- Cross-Functional Leadership:
  Partner with infrastructure, development, and application teams to define database standards, provide technical guidance, and ensure optimal resource utilization.
