Database Engineer

As a Database Engineer with 1 to 3 years of experience, you will play a crucial role in designing, optimizing, and managing databases to ensure scalability, security, and high performance. Your responsibilities will involve collaborating with AI/Engineering teams to enhance storage, retrieval, and analytics pipelines, with a focus on utilizing Azure Databricks for advanced data processing and analytics. Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and maintain scalable database architectures using SQL & NoSQL technologies. - Optimize database queries, indexing, and performance tuning for efficiency. - Ensure data security, compliance, backup procedures, and disaster recovery plans are in place. - Construct and manage ETL pipelines to support AI/ML and analytics workflows effectively. - Utilize Azure Databricks for data processing, integration, and pipeline optimization. - Work closely with AI engineers on vector databases and RAG pipelines. - Integrate databases seamlessly with APIs, CRMs, and external systems. - Monitor database health, troubleshoot issues, and enhance reliability continuously. Qualifications Required: - Strong proficiency in SQL databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, MSSQL, etc. - Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB, etc. - Knowledge of vector databases like Pinecone, Weaviate, Chroma, FAISS is advantageous. - Expertise in database optimization techniques, indexing, and partitioning strategies. - Solid understanding of ETL processes, data pipelines, and data modeling concepts. - Hands-on experience with cloud database services like AWS RDS, GCP Cloud SQL, Azure SQL. - Proficient in Python/SQL scripting for automation tasks. Nice-to-Have: - Familiarity with data warehouses like Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift. - Knowledge of streaming data systems such as Kafka and Spark. - Hands-on experience with AI/ML data pipelines. - Exposure to DevOps practices for databases like Terraform, Kubernetes, CI/CD for DB. - Previous work on enterprise-scale databases handling high-volume data is a plus.
