Database Engineer

As a Database Engineer with 1 to 3 years of experience, your role will involve designing, optimizing, and managing databases to support AI-driven applications. You will work closely with AI/Engineering teams to ensure the scalability, security, and performance of databases while maintaining data integrity. Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and maintain scalable database architectures using SQL & NoSQL technologies. - Optimize database queries, indexing, and performance tuning for efficient operations. - Ensure data security, compliance, backup, and disaster recovery procedures are in place. - Build and manage ETL pipelines to support AI/ML and analytics workflows. - Collaborate with AI engineers on vector databases and RAG pipelines integration. - Integrate databases with APIs, CRMs, and external systems for seamless data flow. - Monitor database health, troubleshoot issues, and enhance reliability for smooth operations. Required Skills & Experience: - Proficiency in SQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MSSQL, etc. - Experience with NoSQL databases like MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB, etc. - Knowledge of vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, Chroma, FAISS) would be advantageous. - Expertise in database optimization, indexing, and partitioning techniques. - Understanding of ETL processes, data pipelines, and data modeling. - Familiarity with cloud database services like AWS RDS, GCP Cloud SQL, Azure SQL. - Ability to work with backup, replication, and high availability strategies. - Strong Python/SQL scripting skills for automation tasks. Nice-to-Have: - Exposure to data warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift. - Knowledge of streaming data systems like Kafka, Spark. - Hands-on experience with AI/ML data pipelines. - Familiarity with DevOps tools for databases (Terraform, Kubernetes, CI/CD for DB). - Previous involvement with enterprise-scale databases handling high-volume data.
