Database Engineer

As a seasoned Lead Database Engineer, you will be responsible for spearheading the design, development, and optimization of large-scale data solutions. Your role will involve utilizing your deep understanding of Oracle SQL, PL SQL, Data Modeling, Python, and proven leadership capabilities to build and maintain robust ETL pipelines. Ensuring data integrity and performance, as well as guiding a team towards best practices and continuous improvement, will be crucial aspects of your responsibilities. Your key responsibilities will include designing database objects like tables and views for data modeling, developing and fine-tuning high-performance ETL pipelines using Oracle SQL and PL/SQL, and providing technical leadership by mentoring a team of data engineers. Collaboration with stakeholders to understand data needs, translating them into scalable solutions, ensuring data integrity and security, and implementing continuous improvements will also be part of your role. To excel in this position, you should have 8+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering or a related field, mastery of Oracle SQL with advanced query optimization skills, understanding of data warehousing concepts, and strong programming abilities in PL/SQL. Additionally, you should possess leadership qualities to effectively lead and mentor teams, manage projects, and create a positive work environment. A solid understanding of data warehousing principles, distributed computing architectures, and cloud platforms, along with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, will be essential. Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, knowledge of real-time data processing frameworks like Kafka, and proficiency in other programming/scripting languages such as Python or Java will be considered a plus.
