Database Administrator (Oracle / Mongo / Postgres)

Job Description

Objectives aligned to this role: Responsible for all Database administration job for Oracle / MongoDB / Postgres / Cassandra DB. Monitoring and support the DB Operation team in all the difficulties they face in day to day tasks and admin jobs. What would you do? Attend all the DB alerts raised by the DB ops team and resolve the same proactively to avoid any issue in production. Check daily slow running queries in all production DBs and do the tuning check with leads, as per leads guidelines do the changes and test the same in lower environments and move the changes to production. Keep tap of all the changes moving into production as part of change management are properly tested in lower environment and does not have any adverse impact in production. Do postproduction review. Monitor on all DBA jobs are getting executed and no errors found in the same. If any error found then resolve the same and get the same executed. Ensure all DBs have enough space and all space and utilization related alerts are working fine in production. Any production issue raised by the incident management participate in to the same WAR room and give inputs from DBA side to resolve the issue as quickly as possible to meet the SLA. Involve leads and even DBA head if required as per the matrix decided. Participate in all DR schedule and not scheduled drills to perform the DB related activities and ensure no errors at DB end so as to achieve the end objective of RTO and RPO committed to bank. Process improvements to be required which results into the cost / time / Space savings. Whom we are looking for: For this role, you must have: Engineering Graduate in Computer Science / Information Technology. + DBA certifications. 2 to 10 years of overall experience out of which minimum 2 years doing database administration job and not only ops job. Knowledge and hands-on experience on minimum 1 DB (Oracle, MongoDB etc) Large implementation 10 TB + size database Clustering, Rack, etc working experience. Worked on DR / BCP drills executions handled switchover and switch back of DB from production to DR and DR to production. Technical skills: Required: Skilled in SQL, Oracle databases, or NoSQL databases. Database Architecture. Oracle Architecture, RAC, Datagaurd, RMAN, EXPDP/EMPDP Good to have: Knowledge on the O/s Unix, Windows.
