Database Administrator

Critical Skills to Possess:

• Proven experience as a Database Administrator, with extensive knowledge of database technologies including PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, and particularly AWS database services.
• Strong hands-on experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases, such as PostgreSQL, and cloud database services.
• Deep understanding of database security, backup and recovery, and cost optimization strategies.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• BS degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent experience

Roles and Responsibilities:

Strategic Database Management:

• Develop and implement strategies for improving the structure and efficiency of Invenco’s databases.
• Collaborate with IT and engineering teams to ensure the database architecture meets the current and future needs of our cloud systems.
• Lower - level admin details like Partitions, indexing , fragmentation, shading .
• Keep the DB house kept; manage back-up large table, create back-up scripts with FK-PF references
• Hunt the costly queries and fix them without impacting business.

AWS Cloud Solutions Implementation:

• Lead the design and deployment of robust data solutions and pipelines on the AWS Cloud Platform, optimizing database performance across various environments.

Data Management:

• Handle large-scale data sets, both structured and unstructured, and develop an understanding of how to manage and utilize these resources effectively.
• Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD):
• Utilize CI/CD principles and DevOps methodologies within the database management lifecycle to enhance data delivery and operational efficiency.
• Advanced Database Knowledge:
• Apply expertise in data modeling, SQL/NoSQL databases, data structures, and ETL processes to improve database setups and operations.
• Indexing, partitioning, handling large table sizes and prescribing strategies for keeping the operational size in check.

Technology Proficiency:

• Experience with data integration tools, ETL frameworks, and data pipeline orchestration tools such as AWS Glue and AirFlow (Nice to have)
• Familiarity with Snowflake and dbt is advantageous but not mandatory.

Communication:

• Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, facilitating clear and effective interactions across the organization.
