This position is an exciting opportunity with a growing IT team. Black Box Network Services is a leading communications system integrator dedicated to designing, sourcing, implementing, and maintaining todays complex communications solutions. This position involves the support and enhancement of the application solutions that help to support Black Box and its business initiatives both domestically and internationally. The typical responsibilities for this position are listed below:

Role Summary

We are seeking a skilled

Database Administrator (DBA)

to manage and optimize our Microsoft SQL Server and Data Services environment. The ideal candidate has 8+ years experience. This candidate will be responsible for ensuring database reliability, security, and performance while proactively recommending improvements and emerging technologies to support business growth.

Responsibilities

Administer, configure, and optimize SQL Server databases to ensure high availability and performance.
Maintain and monitor backup strategies for SQL databases, ensuring data integrity and disaster recovery readiness.
Continuously monitor SQL environments for performance, capacity, and security issues; implement tuning and optimization as needed.
Research and recommend new technologies, tools, and advancements that can enhance database performance and align with business objectives.
Ensure adherence to security standards and maintain accurate documentation of database configurations and processes.

Required Qualifications

8+ years of experience in Database Administration, Database Architecture
Proven experience managing Microsoft SQL Server environments.
Strong knowledge of backup and recovery strategies.
Experience with performance tuning and monitoring tools.
Skills:
- Proficiency in T-SQL scripting.
- Familiarity with high-availability solutions (e.g., Always On, clustering).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of cloud-based SQL solutions (Azure SQL, AWS RDS).
- Experience with automation tools and PowerShell scripting.
