Data Scientist (Kaggle) — Remote, Part-Time

About the Role:

Our client, a medium-sized Financial Services Company based in the US, is seeking an exceptional Data Scientist with a Kaggle Grandmaster profile for a short-term, part-time remote engagement. The expert will support advanced modeling, experimentation, and problem-solving for high-impact analytics use cases.

This role is ideal for elite data scientists with strong competitive modeling experience and the ability to deliver high-precision, production-ready solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop high-performance ML models for forecasting, classification, anomaly detection, or optimization tasks
• Build and refine end-to-end modeling pipelines: data prep → feature engineering → modeling → evaluation
• Apply Kaggle-grade experimentation and model improvement techniques
• Analyze complex datasets and generate actionable insights for business teams
• Document methodology, assumptions, and technical findings

Minimum Qualifications:

• 3–5+ years

  of experience in

  data science or applied analytics

• Proven

  Kaggle Grandmaster

  or top-tier competitive modeling background
• Expert-level proficiency in Python, ML libraries (XGBoost, LightGBM, CatBoost, PyTorch, etc.)
• Strong understanding of statistics, model validation, and performance tuning
• Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality results under short timelines

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in financial services, risk analytics, fraud detection, or time-series forecasting
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Prior consulting or project-based work with global stakeholders
• Strong communication and documentation skills
