Data Science Engineer

Overview

We are seeking a Junior Data Science Engineer with 2-4 years of professional experience to join our analytics team. This role focuses on analyzing the current database, building interactive dashboards for business insights, and deep-diving into user behavior analytics. The ideal candidate will also provide actionable feedback to enhance our data collection processes from mobile applications and other client platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze Current Database: Examine existing data sources to extract valuable insights and identify data quality or structural improvement opportunities.
• Data Visualization: Develop clear and intuitive dashboards (e.g., using Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools) to surface key business metrics, trends, and user behavior analytics for non-technical stakeholders.
• User Behavior Analytics: Investigate patterns in user data to deep-dive into engagement, retention, and other relevant KPIs. Present findings and actionable recommendations to product and business teams.
• Database Enrichment: Review current data pipelines and provide feedback on enhancing data collection strategies. Recommend new data points to be captured from mobile applications and other platforms to empower richer analytics.
• Collaboration: Work closely with engineering and product teams to align analytics requirements and ensure data availability for reporting needs.
• Documentation: Maintain clear, up-to-date documentation for analysis processes, dashboard logic, and recommendations for new data fields or event-tracking.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of experience working in data science, business analytics, or a related analytics/engineering role.
• Strong SQL skills and proficiency in manipulating large datasets.
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or equivalent).
• Hands-on knowledge of Python or R for data analysis.
• Solid understanding of data modeling and relational databases.
• Good knowledge of user behavior analytics and KPI definition.
• Ability to communicate findings and technical requirements to business and engineering stakeholders.

Preferred (Nice-to-have)

• Experience working with mobile app metrics (e.g., Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Firebase).
• Familiarity with ETL processes or data pipeline orchestration.
• Knowledge of event-based tracking and best practices in mobile application analytics.
