Data Quality Officer

• A Data Quality Officer ensures data accuracy, integrity, and reliability by developing standards, auditing data, and resolving discrepancies through collaboration with various departments. Key responsibilities include data cleansing, monitoring, validation, stakeholder training, and supporting data-driven decision-making. Key responsibilities
• Data quality assurance: Develop and implement data quality standards and procedures to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency across datasets.
• Data validation and monitoring: Conduct regular audits to identify and resolve data discrepancies, inconsistencies, and errors using reports and data quality tools.
• Data cleansing: Correct duplicates, errors, and missing information through manual updates or automated processes.
• Stakeholder engagement: Collaborate with different departments to provide training on data quality procedures and best practices, and to resolve issues.
• Process improvement: Identify the root causes of data quality issues and support the implementation of preventive solutions.
• Reporting: Create and present reports on data quality performance and risk to management and stakeholders.
• Data migration: Assist with the transfer of data from legacy systems to new ones, ensuring quality is maintained throughout the process. Required skills and qualifications
• Technical skills: Proficiency with data quality tools, business analytics, and potentially CRM systems like Salesforce. Experience with various phases of the software development lifecycle is also valuable.
• Analytical skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail are crucial for identifying and resolving data issues.
• Communication skills: Excellent communication, both written and verbal, is needed to simplify complex topics, train others, and collaborate with different teams and management.
• Collaboration skills: The ability to work effectively with various teams to plan and lead projects to completion is essential.
• Business acumen: A strong understanding of business needs and how data quality impacts operational efficiency and decision-making.
• Education: A diploma or higher qualification in a related field like Information Technology, Information Systems, or Computer Sciences is often required.
