Role Overview The Data Program Manager will lead and deliver large-scale, enterprise-wide data transformation programs across the BFSI sector, including data governance, data quality, regulatory reporting, cloud data modernization, and enterprise data platform initiatives. This role requires deep program management expertise, strong BFSI knowledge, and the ability to drive multi-stream, cross-functional delivery in complex environments.
Key Responsibilities Program Delivery Management Lead end-to-end execution of enterprise data initiatives spanning ETL, data engineering, data warehousing, governance, and cloud transformation.
Own program scope, delivery plans, timelines, budgets, risks, dependencies, and quality.
Establish governance structures, reporting cadence, dashboards, and program KPIs.
Coordinate cross-functional teams: engineering, architecture, QA, security, infrastructure, and business units.
BFSI Domain Leadership Drive initiatives across core banking, lending, payments, deposits, credit cards, treasury, wealth, fraud, KYC/AML, and risk (PD/LGD/EAD).
Lead regulatory programs involving RBI guidelines, Basel-II/III, IFRS, AML/KYC compliance, and statutory reporting.
Ensure all data programs meet BFSI-level security, audit, and risk-control standards.
Stakeholder Vendor Management Serve as the strategic interface with senior management, CXOs, business heads, data owners, and risk/compliance teams.
Manage multi-vendor delivery, ensuring alignment on timelines, SLAs, and program outcomes.
Lead steering committees, executive reviews, and stakeholder communication.
Data Governance Quality Oversight Support enterprise rollout of data governance frameworks, metadata standards, lineage, and data quality programs.
Oversee data quality KPIs, remediation initiatives, and recurring RCA activities.
Ensure adherence to corporate data policies, risk controls, and audit readiness.
Cloud Data Modernization Programs Lead modernization of legacy on-prem data warehouses to cloud platforms such as AWS/ Azure/GCP.
Manage programs involving lakehouses, data lakes, regulatory data hubs, and reporting systems.
Ensure strong implementation of security, privacy, masking, encryption, and compliance controls.
Required Skills Qualifications Technical Program Skills 15-20 years of professional experience with at least 8+ years leading large-scale data programs.
Strong expertise across ETL/ELT, data warehousing, cloud data platforms, governance, and data quality.
Hands-on understanding of platforms/tools such as ETL, data engineering, data warehousing, governance, and cloud transformation, Databricks, Data analytics and Azure data pipeline
Strong foundation in project/program management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).
Experience managing large budgets, multi-year roadmaps, and multi-vendor ecosystems.
BFSI Domain Experience (Good to Have) Deep experience in BFSI data programs involving regulatory reporting, AML/KYC, credit and market risk data, core banking data flows, treasury and finance data.
Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks (RBI, Basel, IFRS, AML regulations).
Professional Skills Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder negotiation skills.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Ability to manage high-pressure delivery, ambiguity, and multi-stream execution.
Education Bachelor s/Master s in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
PMP, Prince2, Agile, or SAFe certifications preferred.
Cloud/Data certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP, DAMA, Collibra) are an added advantage.
