Job Overview

AWS Data Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain
scalable, reliable data pipelines
on AWS
Develop and optimize
ETL/ELT workflows
for batch and real-time data processing
Work with large datasets and ensure data quality, performance, and reliability
Collaborate with analytics, data science, and business teams to support data needs
Implement best practices for
data modeling, security, and cost optimization
Monitor pipelines, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability
Document architectures, workflows, and operational processes

Required Technical Skills

Core AWS Services

Strong hands-on experience with
AWS S3, Glue, Lambda, EMR, Redshift, Athena
Experience with
AWS Step Functions
, EventBridge, or similar orchestration tools
Understanding of IAM, security, networking, and cost optimization on AWS

Data Engineering & Processing

Expertise in
data warehousing and data lake architectures
Experience with
batch and streaming pipelines
Strong data modeling skills (dimensional modeling, star/snowflake schemas)

Programming & Querying

Strong proficiency in
Python
(primary)
Advanced
SQL
skills for analytics and data transformation
Experience with PySpark / Spark is a strong plus

Databases & Storage

Experience with
Redshift
, RDS (PostgreSQL/MySQL), DynamoDB
Hands-on experience with structured and semi-structured data (JSON, Parquet, Avro)

DevOps & Automation

Experience with
CI/CD pipelines
for data workflows
Infrastructure as Code using
Terraform or CloudFormation

Nice to Have

Airflow / MWAA
