Data Engineer & BI Report developer

Role Summary

Were looking for a hands-on Data Engineer & BI Report developer who enjoys working across the full data pipeline from getting data in, transforming it into dashboards that help teams make better decisions. Youll primarily work with our proprietary data platform, BlocData, which offers a user-friendly UI for managing data transformation and workflow orchestration. In addition, you may use Apache Superset to create dashboards and reports. While the focus is on data engineering using BlocData, experience with Apache Superset is a plus. If you're someone who enjoys solving problems using SQL, building clean data pipelines, and delivering insights through BI tools, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Engineering (with BlocData):

1. Set up data ingestion workflows from files, APIs, or databases using BlocDatas UI.

2. Map and transform data using built-in functions or SQL (for advanced logic).

3. Configure data matching, deduplication, and rule-based enrichment.

4. Monitor and schedule workflows using BlocDatas event scheduler.

5. Use Debezium for change data capture from source systems

BI & Reporting (with Apache Superset):

1. Build dashboards and visualizations in Superset based on processed data.

2. Set up filters and write and optimize SQL queries for reports

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

1. 3+ years of experience in data engineering and/or BI development.

2. Strong SQL skills (with PostgreSQL).

3. Experience with BI tools like Apache Superset.

4. Comfortable working with low-code tools like BlocData (training can be provided).

5. Good understanding of data pipelines, transformations, and workflow scheduling: Must have. 6. Nice to have: Familiarity with CDC tools like Debezium (https://debezium.io/)
